Bluff combos
The combos in a betting range that bet because they cannot win at showdown and need a fold.

- What it means
- Bluff combos are the weakest hands in a betting range, usually missed draws, which only win if the other player folds.
- How it is calculated
- On the range theory page bluff combos are the ones among the weakest 30% of all possible hands on the river board. Your own cards are removed before counting.
- Worked example
- On K♦9♣5♠5♥2♣ a range whose bluffs are the missed heart draws Q♥J♥, J♥T♥, T♥9♥ and 8♥7♥ has 4 bluff combos, and holding the J♥ removes 2 of them.
- Why it matters
- The ratio of bluffs to value decides whether a call wins money. Blockers that remove bluffs make a call worse; blockers that remove value make it better.
