The combos in a betting range that bet because they expect to be called by worse.
Last updated
- What it means
- Value combos are the strong hands in a range: the ones that win most of the time when called.
- How it is calculated
- On the range theory page value combos are the ones among the strongest 15% of all possible hands on the river board, found by the hand evaluator. Your own cards are removed before counting.
- Worked example
- On K♦9♣5♠5♥2♣ a range holding KK, 99 and K5s has 3 combos of KK, 3 of 99 and 1 of K5s, K♣5♣, as value: 7 combos in all.
- Why it matters
- Counting value combos, and how many your cards remove, tells you how often a bet is a bluff and whether a call is priced in.
