Engine estimate

A flop grade Turnstone, the engine, searched for on the spot, with its measured loss on this kind of spot and flop.

What it means
When no solved pack holds your exact flop position, Turnstone, the app's engine, searches for the answer in a few seconds. A search is close to an exact solve, not equal to one, so the grade is marked as an estimate.
How it is calculated
The figure is how much of the pot Turnstone's play gave up, on average, against exact solves of flops of the same texture in the same spot, the last time it was measured. A spot that has not been measured shows no figure.
Worked example
A grade marked engine estimate, within about 0.2% of pot, on a 6bb pot means the engine's own play was about 0.01bb short of an exact solve on average.
Why it matters
It tells you how far to trust the grade. A mistake that costs less than the figure may not be a mistake at all.
