Flop weight
How many of the 22,100 possible flops look like this one once the suits are swapped.
Last updated
- What it means
- A solved flop stands for every flop that plays the same with the suits renamed. A rainbow flop with three ranks stands for 24 flops, a two-tone one or a paired one for 12, and a monotone flop or trips for 4.
- How it is calculated
- Count the suit patterns: 24 for rainbow, 12 for two-tone or paired, 4 for monotone or trips. Averages in the report weight each flop by this count, so common flops count more.
- Worked example
- A♠8♦2♣ has weight 24 and Q♥J♥T♥ has weight 4, so the rainbow flop counts six times as much in an average.
- Why it matters
- Without the weights, rare monotone flops would count as much as common rainbow ones and skew every average.
