Board texture
How connected and suited the community cards are, and so how much they favor each range.

- What it means
- A dry board has few draws and changes little on later streets. A wet board is connected or suited, so many hands have draws.
- How it is calculated
- Look for pairs, cards of the same suit, and cards close together in rank.
- Worked example
- K♠7♦2♣ is dry: no flush draw and almost no straight draws. J♥T♥9♠ is wet: flush draws, straight draws and made straights are all possible.
- Why it matters
- Texture decides how often to bet and how large. Dry boards favor small, frequent bets; wet boards favor larger, more selective ones.
