In the money (ITM)
Finishing in a paid place; ITM rate is the share of tournaments a player cashes in.
Last updated
- What it means
- A player is in the money once they finish in one of the paid places. Their ITM rate is how often that happens.
- How it is calculated
- In the simulator a break-even player cashes at the structure's paid share of the field; a winning player cashes that share times (1 + ROI) ÷ (1 − rake).
- Worked example
- In a 500-player event paying 15%, 75 places cash. With 10% rake and a 20% ROI the model's ITM rate is 15% × 1.2 ÷ 0.9 = 20%.
- Why it matters
- Most cashes are small; the profit of a tournament player comes from the rare deep runs, which is why their results swing so much.
