Nash equilibrium
A pair of strategies where neither player can gain by changing theirs alone.

- What it means
- At equilibrium, each strategy is the best response to the other. It is what GTO means in practice.
- How it is calculated
- This app finds it by fictitious play: each side repeatedly plays the best response to the other's average strategy until they stop improving.
- Worked example
- The push/fold solver stops when a perfect exploiter could gain less than 0.01bb per hand against either side.
- Why it matters
- An equilibrium strategy cannot be exploited, which makes it a safe default against unknown opponents.
