- What it means
- The same spot plays differently at different stack depths, so the app keeps separate charts for each depth band: opens and big blind defense at 60, 40, 25 and 15bb, cold calls, squeezes and 4-bets at 40bb, and the blind battle and heads-up at 40, 25 and 20bb. Each depth is solved by the app's preflop solver with antes of 12.5% of the big blind, and the file that holds them names that source.
- How it is calculated
- A drill card at a given depth deals a hand and grades your answer against the chart for that depth. Everywhere they appear, these charts are marked approximate. Edit them in charts.json under depths.
- Worked example
- The cutoff opens about 31% of hands at 60bb, 35% at 40bb and 27% at 15bb. 22 opens at 60bb and folds at 15bb, where a small pair rarely gets paid when it flops a set.
- Why it matters
- Most tournament hands are played at 15 to 60bb, not 100bb. Speculative hands such as small pairs and suited connectors lose value as stacks shrink, because there is less left to win when they hit.
