Approximate chart

A chart from the app's preflop solver, which models postflop play with equity-realization factors instead of solving it.

What it means
Every preflop chart in the app comes from a CFR solve of the 6-max preflop tree (opens, 3-bets, 4-bets, 5-bet jams, cold calls and squeezes) on the 169 hand classes, and the heads-up charts from the heads-up tree. A hand that reaches a flop gets its share of the pot from the preflop equity table, scaled by how well its position and shape let it realize that equity. Each chart names its source and factors in charts.json, and the app marks it approximate wherever it shows it.
How it is calculated
The top-level charts are 100bb with no ante; the charts below 100bb, and a 100bb set kept for postflop spots, have antes of 12.5% of the big blind. Charts such as facing an open cover every opener, weighted by how often each one opens. Mixed hands are rounded to 5% steps. Drills grade them by frequency.
Worked example
The 100bb button chart opens about 45% of hands, and the big blind defends about 58% against it, close to published solver charts.
Why it matters
A full postflop solve of every preflop spot is out of reach, so the realization factors stand in for postflop play. The charts teach the shape of a good range; treat the exact edges as a guide, not the answer.
