Postflop rules of thumb
Simple equity-based rules for betting after the flop, taught before solver answers exist in the app.

- What it means
- The lessons teach value betting, bluffing, checking, bet sizing and continuation bets as plain rules. They are simplifications, not solver output, and they say so on screen.
- How it is calculated
- Each rule compares an equity from the engine with a threshold from config: your equity against the villain's whole range, or against the part of it that would call a bet. The calling range is every hand that makes at least one pair.
- Worked example
- On the river you beat 62% of the hands that would call. That is above the 50% value line and below the 70% big-bet line, so the rule says bet small.
- Why it matters
- Most of a beginner's losses after the flop come from betting hands that only get called by better and checking hands that should bet. Rules of thumb fix the worst of it until solver drills replace them.
