Top up
Buying more chips between hands to bring your stack back to the starting depth.
Last updated
- What it means
- Between hands a cash player may add chips to their stack, up to the table maximum. On this table that maximum is the 100bb starting stack.
- How it is calculated
- Top up only between hands, never during one. The chips you add count as part of your buy-in, so they come off your result.
- Worked example
- You are down to 55bb. Topping up adds 45bb, back to 100bb, and your total buy-in rises from 100bb to 145bb.
- Why it matters
- Playing with a full stack keeps every hand at the depth the charts and solver packs assume, and lets you win the most from a deep opponent.
