Omaha (PLO)
A flop game like Hold'em where each player holds four or more cards and must use exactly two of them.

- What it means
- Pot-limit Omaha deals each player four cards (five in PLO5 and Big O, six in PLO6). The best hand uses exactly two hole cards and exactly three board cards.
- How it is calculated
- Check every pair from your hand with every three cards from the board. Four suited board cards and one suited hole card make no flush, because two hole cards must play.
- Worked example
- With A♠K♠Q♦J♦ on a board of 10♠9♠2♠7♥3♣, the A♠K♠ make the nut flush. Holding A♠K♦Q♦J♣ on 10♠9♠8♠7♠2♣, the lone spade makes no flush.
- Why it matters
- More cards in hand means stronger hands at showdown and closer equities: before the flop the best hand is rarely more than a 65% favorite.
