Rainbow board
A flop whose three cards are all different suits, so no flush draw is possible yet.

- What it means
- Every flop card has its own suit. A flush needs the turn and river to both match a hand's suited cards, which is rare.
- How it is calculated
- Count the suits on the flop: three different suits means rainbow.
- Worked example
- A♠8♦2♣ is rainbow and dry: only straights and backdoor flushes can change much.
- Why it matters
- With fewer draws, the range that is ahead now stays ahead more often, so the bettor can bet small and often.
