Range advantage

Having the stronger range overall on a board: more equity against the other player's range than they have against yours.

What it means
Range advantage compares whole ranges, not single hands. The player whose range has more than half of the equity against the other range, on this board, has the range advantage.
How it is calculated
The app runs every combo of one range against the other range through the equity engine, weighting each combo by how many opposing combos its cards leave possible. On the range theory page a side needs more than 53% to count as having the advantage; closer than that is called even.
Worked example
With the app's charts, an under-the-gun opener's range has about 62% equity against the big blind's calling range on A♠K♦7♣, a clear range advantage. On 5♥4♥3♣ the big blind's suited connectors and small pairs pull it back to about 58%.
Why it matters
The side with the range advantage can bet more often, often with a small size, because most of its range is ahead. The other side checks more and defends with care.
