Squeeze
A 3-bet after one player has opened and another has called.

- What it means
- In a squeeze spot, one player opens and another calls before you act. You can squeeze with a 3-bet, over-call or fold. The caller's range is capped, because they would usually have 3-bet their best hands, so a squeeze often wins the pot straight away.
- How it is calculated
- Squeeze bigger than a normal 3-bet, since there is an extra player to get through: about 4 times the open, plus one open for each caller. Squeeze with value hands and a few blockers such as A5s. Over-call hands that play well multiway.
- Worked example
- The cutoff opens to 2.5bb and the button calls. From the small blind, JJ+, AQs+, AKo and A5s squeeze, TT and AJs over-call, and most other hands fold.
- Why it matters
- The dead money from the caller makes squeezes profitable, while over-calling out of position with weak hands loses. The ranges here are approximate charts.
