Last updated
- What it means
- A tournament raises its blinds every level. The level is written as two chip counts: the small blind first, then the big blind, with any ante after.
- How it is calculated
- Read 25/50 as a small blind of 25 chips and a big blind of 50. Divide a stack by the second number to get its size in big blinds.
- Worked example
- At 100/200 with an ante of 25, a 4,000 chip stack is 20bb, and a raise to 500 chips is a raise to 2.5bb.
- Why it matters
- Rising blinds shrink every stack measured in big blinds, which is what pushes a tournament from deep play into push/fold.
