Bounty-adjusted pot odds
Pot odds with the bounty's value added to the pot you win, so calls need less equity.

- What it means
- When you cover an all-in player, winning the hand also wins their bounty. Adding its value in bb to the final pot lowers the equity a call needs.
- How it is calculated
- Equity needed = amount to call ÷ (final pot + bounty). Without the bounty it is amount to call ÷ final pot. Call when your equity against the shoving range beats the lower figure.
- Worked example
- The button shoves 15bb with antes of 0.125bb and you cover in the big blind. You call 13.875bb into a final pot of 31bb, so you need 44.8% in chips. Add an 8bb bounty and you need 13.875 ÷ 39 = 35.6%.
- Why it matters
- PKO calling ranges are far wider than chip EV ranges. Folding the hands the bounty turns into calls leaves money behind every time a short stack shoves into you.
