BTN (button)
The dealer seat, which acts last on every street after the flop, the best seat at the table.

- What it means
- The button marks the dealer. It moves one seat left each hand. After the flop the button always acts last, seeing what everyone else did first.
- How it is calculated
- Only the two blinds act after the button preflop, so it opens the widest range and plays the most pots in position.
- Worked example
- At 100bb the button opens about 46% of hands. In a 1.5bb pot with only the blinds to pass, even hands like K5s and 64s are profitable opens.
- Why it matters
- Acting last is worth a lot of big blinds over time, which is why every seat's range widens as it gets closer to the button.
