CO (cutoff)
The seat just right of the button, the second-best seat at the table.
Last updated
- What it means
- The cutoff acts right before the button. Only the button and the two blinds are left to act after it opens.
- How it is calculated
- With fewer players behind, the cutoff opens a wide range, and it steals the blinds often when the button folds.
- Worked example
- At 100bb the cutoff opens about 24% of hands, including most suited aces and hands like K9s and QTs.
- Why it matters
- Late seats are where most of the profit in poker is made, so the cutoff and button ranges are worth knowing cold.
