GlossaryAt the table

MP (middle position)

The second seat to act at a 6-max table, between UTG and the cutoff; the same seat as the hijack.

What it means
At a 6-max table MP is the seat after UTG. Four players still act behind it: the cutoff, the button and both blinds.
How it is calculated
Open slightly wider than UTG, adding hands such as small suited connectors and weaker suited aces that play well when called.
Worked example
In this app's charts MP opens about 13% of hands at 100bb, a little more than UTG's 11%.
Why it matters
Every chart in the app is split by seat, and MP is one of the six 6-max seats you will drill.
