Donk bet
A lead into the player who was the aggressor on the previous betting round.

- What it means
- A donk bet is a bet made before the previous round's aggressor has acted. After the button raises and the big blind calls, a big blind bet on the flop is a donk bet.
- How it is calculated
- Count the lead among the hands reaching the start of that street. A continuation bet is a different decision: the previous aggressor bets, usually after a check.
- Worked example
- The button opens to 2.5 big blinds and the big blind calls. On a 5.5 big blind flop pot, the big blind bets about 1.83 big blinds before the button acts. That is a third-pot lead.
- Why it matters
- A lead changes which hands reach the checked-to decision. A c-bet frequency after a check does not describe what happens against a lead.
