Iso-raise
A raise over one or more limpers, sized to play the hand heads-up against a weak range.

- What it means
- Iso-raising, short for isolation raising, attacks limpers. It aims to win the pot now or play it heads-up and in position against a capped range.
- How it is calculated
- Raise to about 4bb plus 1bb for each limper. Use value-heavy, linear ranges: strong pairs, big aces and broadway hands, getting tighter as limpers add up.
- Worked example
- Two players limp and you are on the button with AJo. A raise to 4 + 2 = 6bb makes the pot 6 + 1 + 1 + 1.5 = 9.5bb if nobody calls.
- Why it matters
- Letting limpers see cheap flops with weak hands hands them free equity. Iso-raising turns your better hand and position into chips.
