Placement test
A short test that finds a starting point on the learning path, beginning with the rules.

- What it means
- The placement test asks one question from each unit of each level, easiest first, so a player who already knows the game does not have to sit every exam from the start.
- How it is calculated
- It asks one question from each unit of the path, easiest level first, on a hand near the edge of the chart where it can. Each level's section needs 75% to continue. After the first failed section the test ends and the path starts at that level. One question per unit cannot cover every skill, so the skills it skipped in a passed level are marked "Not checked" on the path. Each gets a one-question check: a right answer confirms the skill, and a wrong one opens that skill again without reopening the level.
- Worked example
- A regular scores 97% on Beginner, 90% on Recreational, 83% on Regular and 40% on Pro. They have passed through Regular and start learning Pro.
- Why it matters
- It saves an experienced player an hour of easy questions and points them straight at the level that will stretch them.
