Recall (retrievability)

The chance you still remember a drill card right now, as the spaced repetition scheduler estimates it from your reviews.

Last updated

What it means
Every drill spot you answer is a card in the spaced repetition deck. From how often and how well you have answered it, the scheduler estimates how likely you are to get it right today. That chance is its retrievability: near 100% just after a review, falling slowly as time passes.
How it is calculated
A skill's recall is the average over its cards you have reviewed. A finished path unit shows as fading when any of its skills drops below 80%, and its refresh deals 6 spots on those skills, starting with the cards most likely forgotten. Each answer reviews its card, which lifts recall back up.
Worked example
You finish Opening the pot and stop drilling it. Weeks later late position opens average 74% recall, under the 80% line, so the unit shows Fading; a 6-spot refresh reviews those cards and recall is back near 100%.
Why it matters
Skills fade without practice. Reviewing just before you would forget keeps them for longer with the least practice time.
