Facing Open
Someone raised before you; do you fold, call or re-raise?
Last updated
- What it means
- Another player has made the first voluntary raise before the flop, and the action has reached you.
- How it is calculated
- Choose between folding, calling the opening raise or re-raising, using the chart for your seat and stack depth.
- Worked example
- The cutoff raises to 2.5bb and you are on the button with AQs. You decide whether to fold, call 2.5bb or 3-bet.
- Why it matters
- An opener already represents a range of hands, so your response differs from opening an unopened pot.
