Fold to river bet
How often a player folds when you bet into them on the river.
Last updated
- What it means
- Fold to river bet is the share of river bets a player gives up against. Calling stations have a low number: they call with any pair.
- How it is calculated
- The exploits page deals it from 15% to 60% for the pool and compares it with the bluff break-even of the size you are considering.
- Worked example
- A player folds 30% to river bets. A half-pot bluff needs 33% folds, so it loses a little: 30% × 10bb − 70% × 5bb = −0.5bb in a 10bb pot.
- Why it matters
- Bluffing the river is only right when the player folds more than the break-even. Against callers, bet your good hands thinner instead.
