Limped pots
Deciding whether to iso-raise, over-limp or fold when players have limped in front of you.
Last updated
- What it means
- The skill covers the spots charts leave out: one or more limpers ahead of you on the cutoff, button or small blind.
- How it is calculated
- Iso-raise a linear, value-heavy range, over-limp small pairs and suited connectors that want a cheap multiway flop, and fold the rest. From the small blind, completing costs only half a big blind.
- Worked example
- UTG limps and you hold KJs on the cutoff. Iso-raise to 5bb. With 65s, over-limp for 1bb into a 2.5bb pot. With K7o, fold.
- Why it matters
- Limped pots are common at low stakes and live tables. Limping behind with strong hands and raising weak ones are both steady leaks.
