- What it means
- Preflop is the betting after everyone gets two hole cards. The flop deals three shared cards face up, the turn a fourth and the river a fifth, with a round of betting after each.
- How it is calculated
- A street ends once everyone still in has acted and has put in the same amount or is all-in. If only one player is left at any point, they win the pot and the hand ends without the remaining cards.
- Worked example
- 6 players are dealt in. 4 fold preflop and 2 see the flop, which puts 3 cards on the board. The turn makes 4 and the river 5; if a river bet is called, both players show their cards.
- Why it matters
- Every decision in the app happens on a street, and the price of calling and what you know both change from one street to the next.
