Fold
Giving up your hand and any chips you have already put in the pot.

- What it means
- Folding throws your cards away. You take no further part in the hand and cannot win the pot, but you lose nothing more.
- How it is calculated
- You can fold whenever you face a bet. When nobody has bet you can check for free instead, so the app never offers a fold then.
- Worked example
- You hold 7-2 offsuit under the gun. Folding costs nothing, since you have not put any chips in yet.
- Why it matters
- Most hands should be folded before the flop. Folding weak hands is the single biggest saving a new player can make.
